Andover Central girls pull away in second half win over Newton
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The Lady Jaguars faced the Railers in Newton’s Invitational Tournament and won 64-32.
Jaden Newfarmer at the top of the key, she launched it over to Bailey Wilborn in the corner. Wilborn hit the triple and Andover Central is first on the board 3-0.
Lexi Valle-Ponds handed it off to Hayley Loewen underneath who then spun and threw it up to make it a 3-2 game.
Marah Zenner fought in the paint and worked her way to the basket getting the side shot off and Newton went up 6-5.
Brittany Harshaw broke up the pass and took it coast to coast before dumping it off to Ellie Stearns who’s shot is a too strong. Harshaw finished it off. Jags took the 7-6 lead.
Wilborn kicked it out to Brayden Wheatly in the corner. Wheatly had the wide open three and to put Andover Central up by double.
Stearns deflected the Railer inbound, Newfarmer grabbed it and passed it ahead to Wilborn for the layup.
