KMC girls shut down Newton to win by 15
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Kapaun Mt. Carmel girls faced Newton in game two of the Newton Invitational Tournament.
The Railers got out to an early lead while the Crusaders struggled to get shots to drop. After a slight Kapaun lead at the half, KMC would go on to win by fifteen over Newton; 55-40.
After the steal, Jennifer Jacobs took it back the other way on the fast break and tossed it up, getting it to fall and the game was tied at seven.
Olivia Antonowich tried to set something up, moving teammates around but she took the step out and pulled up for three. Railers took a 14-10 lead.
The very next play, Haylie Sanders got the ball, she passed it over to Kaelin Quigley who was stationed in the corner all night trying to get the long ball to fall. This time, she pulled up for the jumper and that makes it back-to-back threes.
Crusaders trying to pull away, Sophia Gimino took it in and lobbed it up for the basket. She was a strong force for KMC Wednesday night.
