Andover Central girls comeback in the fourth to beat Bishop Carroll

WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The girls basketball Newton Invitational Tournament showcased a tough matchup between Bishop Carrol and Andover Central, Wednesday night for the tournament’s first game. The Eagles would take a one-point lead over the Jaguars into the locker room at halftime.

Carroll even led by as much as nine points at the end of the third quarter but Andover Central was able to put up 24 points in the fourth quarter to pull off the 56-49 win.

Brittany Harshaw led the Jaguars with 21 points and went 7-8 from the line. Ellie Stearns followed her up with 14 points and hit 83 percent of her free throws.

Bishop Carroll put up 20 points in the third quarter to give them a comfortable lead but were only able to score eight in the fourth quarter. Khloe Schuckman led the Eagles in scoring, recording 14 points. No other players reached double digits for Carroll. Jadyn Allen was second in scoring with eight buckets.
