January Jam: Topeka Seaman tops Valley Center

WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) -Topeka Seaman used second half runs to find separation over the Valley Center Hornets, winning on day two of the January Jam, 65-51.

The contest remained close in the first two frames of play before Topeka Seaman was able to pull away to a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter.

Kaleb Harden was big on the offensive attack for Valley Center shooting 3 for 6 from three-point range, including a buzzer beater at the end of the third quarter. He would lead the Valley Center scoring effort with 15 points followed closely by Eli Isaacs and Gabe Phillips who each finished with 14.

Once the Vikings were able to settle in on offense, it seemed like every option was at their disposal. Kaeden Bonner finished with a game high 19 points on 8 of 13 shooting. Ty Henry paced Bonner with 18 points, while Brody Gormley scored 10.

Each team will return for the final round of the January Jam on Saturday.
