Rose Hill snaps Collegiate’s unbeaten season
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Rose Hill is no stranger to beating the Collegiate boys basketball team. Friday’s win marks the first over the Spartans this season, and the third time the Rockets beat the Spartans on the road winning 68-57.
In a contest that started in a back-and-forth manner, neither team was able to pull away to a comfortable lead. The Rockets took a 32-28 lead at half and ultimately held on for the win.
The Rockets’ guard play was big in the first half. Adriel Smith and Spencer Nolan handled the bulk of the scoring effort in the first half action.
Defensively, the Rockets surrendered no easy buckets to the Collegiate total but the Spartans were able to come away with baskets. The post game was a big factor for Collegiate, cashing in down low with Grant Ramsey and Blake Clay.
