WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) -A comeback bid from the Collegiate girls fell short by a three point margin against Rose Hill on Friday. The Spartans were able to cut the lead to one before a pair of free throws launched the Rockets to a 51-48 win.

Rose Hill was ahead the entirety of the game creating an 11-point lead at halftime.

Korryn Hackney sparked the Rocket effort, scoring a team high 15 points. Aspen Goetz followed closely with 11 while Lexi Rose contributed 10.

The Collegiate press would cause problems for the Rockets in the latter half of the game. Focusing on the trap and forcing the Rockets into errant passes. When the Rose Hill guards did conquer the press, they found points on the offensive side of the court.

The Spartans were led by a sharp shooting performance from junior Ellie Munds who scored each of her game-high 21 points from behind the arc. Haley Allen paced Munds’ effort with 11 points of her own, Maddy Mairs finished with 8.

With the win, Rose Hill improves to 3-4 on the season. The Rockets are slated to face off against Ark-City on Tuesday. Collegiate falls to 1-4 on the year and will challenge circle in a few days.
