Eisenhower girls pull away from South in last half
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The first half of the game between Eisenhower girls and Wichita South was a back and forth battle. The Tigers were able to pull away in the second half to win by ten, 35-25.
The second quarter did not see a single point until the last minutes before halftime. Both teams struggled with ball control and turned the ball over multiple times.
Kennedy Nicholson sent it across to an open Payton Ryan but her shot was off so Nicholson followed the ball up and was there for the put back to give the Tigers the 7-6 lead.
Zion Butler swatted the ball away from the Tigers and tipped it up to Serenity Jackson who took it coast to coast and laid it in the for the basket. Titans took the one-point lead.
Taylor Burkholder found Kila Respress inside. She turned and passed it off to Ryan under the net. Ryan tossed the ball up and found the bottom. Eisenhower went up 10-8 at that point.
South fighting at for the offensive board. Raisha Banks got a hand on it tried taking it in but Eisenhower was putting on the pressure. Banks stepped out for the fade and got the shot to fall.
