Derby bounces back, tops Maize South 45-35

WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - After falling in their final game of 2020, Derby began the new year with a 45-35 win over Maize South Friday night.

Derby got out to a 23-14 lead at halftime, and opened the 3rd quarter on an 8-0 run. In that 3rd quarter, Maize South only scored 5 points.

The Mavericks turned it on in the 4th quarter though, led by 7 4th quarter points from DeKeira Clay. The Mavs Derby 16-7 in the 4th, but it wasn’t enough.

The Panthers were led by Addy Brown with 18 points on the night.
