Dodge City stays perfect, tops McPherson

WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The Dodge City Red Demons traveled to McPherson to face off against the Bullpups.

Having lost to the Bullpups in the previous two seasons, the Red Demons came for revenge.

Dodge City started and finished strong in this one. They were able to grab the lead early on and kept it throughout the entire game.

In the first quarter, a pass from Kisa Unruh to Camree Johnson, who took a wide-open shot for two for the Red Demons and scored. She finished the game with eight points.

Red Demons ball again, a pass from Becca Unruh to Amaya Perez who took it straight to the hoop to add two more for Dodge City.

But the Bullpups weren’t going away easily.

Kassidy Beam tossed the ball to Grace Pyle who drove it to the hoop for two for the Pups.

Johnson for the Red Demons tried to drive the ball in but it got tipped by Laruen Labertew, Emma Malm for McPherson was able to get a hold of it and took it all the way to the hoop for two.

Dodge City’s ball, Johnson found Unruh who put up two more for the Red Demons.

Dodge City kept their lead through the game to beat McPherson at home for the first time to keep their undefeated record at 5-0.

Final score: 58-41.
