DODGE CITY, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - For the first time in school history, Cheylin claimed a state championship in football, winning the Wild West Bowl over Moscow 46-0 Saturday in Dodge City.

Lead by 6-Man Offensive Player of the Year Colton McCarty and his younger brother Logan at quarterback, the Cougars jumped out to a 26-0 lead at halftime, while the defense pitched its third shutout of the season and second of the playoffs.

The younger McCarty, freshman Logan threw for 320 yards with 6 total touchdowns to lead the Cougars offensively, including 102 yards through the air to brother Colton and 107 to Drew Schields.

The win for Cheylin flips the result from last year’s 6-Man championship; the Wildcats topped Cheylin 52-6 to end the 2019 season on top.
