DODGE CITY, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - For the second consecutive season, Central Plains returned to Claflin as volleyball state champions after they beat Lebo in two sets, 26-24, 25-23, at the Class 1A D1 championships in Dodge City Saturday.
The win capped a perfect day for the Oilers, who topped the one-seed Wolves earlier in a three set contest as a part of pool play.
Junior Kassidy Nixon finished with 87 kills to lead the Oilers across their five matches, the championship-clinching kill included.
The Oilers finish their year with a 32-11 record, taking their third championship in school history.
