Collegiate rolls past Wellington, 56-3
Spartans with another dominant win
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Wichita Collegiate flexed some early season muscle Friday night, rolling past Wellington 56-3.
The Spartans got things going early. After a stop on Wellington’s opening drive, Collegiate drove down the field, riding the back of senior running back Jacob Chugg. On a 4th down and short inside the 5-yard line, Chugg took it around the left side and into the endzone for 6. Before the quarter ended, Chugg led another long Spartan drive down the field, capped by a Wesley Fair QB keeper to make it 14-0 right out of the gates.
Collegiate added 21 more points before the break, leading 35-0 at halftime. The Spartans never looked back from there, and now have two wins on a combined score of 112-3. Collegiate hosts Rose Hill in week 3.
