WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) -

Bishop Carroll’s 21 year win streak in the Holy War again Kapaun continues. With a nail biting win...the golden Eagles say they adjusted during the game to pull out the nail biting 3-point win over the Crusaders.

Both Kapaun and Carroll came into this match-up undefeated.

In the first quarter, Andrew Gimino handed it off to Austin Ruda who finds a whole up the middle and launches into the endzone for the first score of the game. Crusaders up 7-0.

Carroll tried to respond and get some points on the board with this field goal but it was blocked by Kapaun.

Gimino on the quarterback keep, ran right into a mob and got stuffed. He lost the ball and Andrew Husband recovered it for the Eagles.

That would lead to this short touchdown run by Hunter Trail to start the second quarter. Game is tied at 7.

Carroll’s next drive, Aiden Niedens connected with Oscar Gallardo in the endzone to put the Eagles up 14-7.

But the Cruasders did not give up. Gimino rolled out to find Tiger Jones over the shoulder in the back corner to tie the game back up again.

In the fourth quarter, Niedens handed it off to Trail who took it outside and in for the touchdown. That would seal the win for the Eagles.

Bishop Carroll senior running back Hunter Trail said, “They had a big win last week so we knew that they’d be confident coming into this game and early in teh first half we struggled, they came out really passionate and ready to go and we weren’t.”

Bishop Carroll head coach Dusty Trail said, “Kapaun’s a much improved team. Out physicaled us I thought they played more physical than we did most of the game. We made some mistakes but Kapaun made us make mistakes so we’ve got ot learn from that and continue moving on.”

Bishop Carroll senior quarterback Aiden Niedens said, “We made a few mistakes but I knew with our offense and our defense that we’d be able to overcome. They started playing back more on our pass so we just ran it right up the middle.”

Chelsea tag-After 5 lead changes through this game, Carroll is learning from their performance tonight in order to be ready to take on Derby next week.
