Why you should go: Attention all holiday shoppers: the 9th Annual Holiday Galleria is coming to Century II this weekend. Start your holiday shopping by coming to this upscale shopping event. Here you will find unique accessories, apparel, beauty and bath products, children’s clothing and toys, food and beverages, holiday décor, home décor, jewelry and much more from 115 regional and national merchants.
The objective of the 2012 Holiday Galleria is to raise money to fulfill Junior League of Wichita, Inc.’s mission of building a better community. The Junior League of Wichita is a non-profit made up of over 700 women who are committed to building a better community, developing the potential of women, and promoting volunteerism.

2) ConAir 2012

Why you should go: If you’re into life-size aircraft or have an interest in plastic airplane models, the Kansas Aviation Museum is where you need to be this weekend.

ConAir 2012 will have hundreds of high quality plastic models displayed throughout the museum and competing against each other for different categorical awards. Plastic models will include aircraft, armor, automobile, diorama, figure, sci-fi, ship and spacecraft.
In addition to the plastic models competition, children under 12 can build and bring home their very own FREE model of a Camaro car kit or an FY-117 aircraft – which the museum volunteers will help build.

Why you should go: Get ready to party at this year’s ArtAID. This year, the annual fundraiser will be held in Century II’s Convention Hall for a bigger and better than ever show.
The ArtAID event combines a night of live and silent auctions, along with spectacular live performances and a dance-infused runway show. You can also expect to see acrobats, musicians, clothing designers, models, actors, national dancers, amazing artwork and more.

8:30 PM – Live auction with artwork donated by Wichita artists and raffle items donated by local and national businesses

Why you should go: Blue Collar Comedy legend and popular stand-up comedian, Larry the Cable Guy, will bring his comedy routine to INTRUST Bank Arena this Friday.
The multi-platinum recording artist, Billboard award winner, and Grammy nominee is out on tour to promote the release of his newest compilation album, “The Best of Larry the Cable Guy (2010).”
Audience members can expect to see a show that’s packed with big laughs and redneck philosophy.

Why you should go: Celebrate Halloween by taking the family out to BOOtanica this Saturday. The special fall festival is held at Wichita’s Botanica Gardens and offers a list of fun activities, including: a Scarecrow Trail, Spider’s Lair, Slithering Snakes, Creepy Crawlers, Trick or Treat Bag Decorating and more.
While you’re there, don’t forget to enjoy the wonders of nature in the beautiful garden settings. Costumes are optional, but having fun is mandatory.
