The Little River baseball team, the lone baseball team in the Wheat State League in 2014, swept a pair of doubleheaders this past week to improve its seasonal record to 7-3 on the season.
Elsewhere in the WSL this past week the Wakefield track teams hosted a quad meet on Tuesday where the Bombers and Lady Bombers did not allow their competition to feel welcome in Wakefield as they swept both team titles.
The Solomon track teams were not in action this past week and are scheduled to return to action this Tuesday at Wilson.
The Hope track teams ran at Wakefield on Tuesday where the Lion boys finished in 3rd place with 39 points and the Lady Lions were 4th with 12 points. The Lions and Lady Lions are scheduled to return to action this Friday at Abilene.
The Bomber and Lady Bomber track teams hosted a meet on Tuesday where they swept both team titles with the Bomber boys winning the team title with 128 points and the Lady Bombers winning the girls’ crown with 119 points.
The Redskin baseball team played a pair of doubleheaders this past week, sweeping both of them. The Redskins swept Minneapolis on Tuesday, winning 13-3 and 11-1. The Redskins then swept Bennington on Thursday, winning 10-0 and 12-2. The Redskins are scheduled to return to the field Tuesday at Ell-Saline.
The Lady Redskin softball team played a single game against Minneapolis on Tuesday and fell 13-1. The Lady Redskins are scheduled to return to action this Friday at Moundridge.
The Little River track teams were in action at Fairfield on Tuesday where the boys had two individual champions and the Lady Redskins had four individual champions.
The White City track teams ran at Wakefield on Tuesday where the Huskie boys finished in 2nd place with 77 points and the Lady Huskies were 2nd with 41 points.
The White City softball team, which is a co-op with Herington, got swept by Council Grove on Tuesday, falling 7-4 and 15-0 and then got swept by Mission Valley on Thursday, falling 2-0 and 11-1.
The Centre track teams ran at Haven on Tuesday wehre the Cougar boys were 5th with 13 points and the Lady Cougars were third with 62 points. Centre is scheduled to run at Haven again this coming Tuesday.
The Goessel track teams hosted a meet on Tuesday where the Bluebird boys were 5th with 53 points and the Lady Bluebirds finished 3rd with 75 points.
The Peabody Burns track teams ran at Haven on Tuesday where the Warrior boys finished in 4th place with 57 points and the Lady Warriors finished 5th with 13 points.
The Elyria Christian track teams ran at Goessel on Tuesday where the Eagle boys finished in 6th place with 5 points and the Lady Eagles were 6th with 13 points.
