Salina Central edged out Newton in a defense optional game 20-19
Valley Center tied it in the top of the 7th, but Goddard-Eisenhower scored the winning run in the 8th to eke out a victory in the first game. In the second, Goddard-Eisenhower put 4 on the board in the 4th and added an extra insurance run in the 5th to win 12-8. Minor got the W and Watson got the save.
Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail-Division III-IV
Augusta managed only 3 hits in the first game against Buhler, but made them count picking up a 2-1 win; Augusta then blanked Buhler in the second 10-0, allowing no hits.
Mulvane stomped El Dorado 13-1 and 20-1
Rose Hill beat Winfield 13-5 and 6-2
Mulvane edged out Augusta 8-7 in the first game and 16-15 in the second.
Rose Hill’s magic numbers against El Dorado were 1 6 beating them 16-1 in both games; Rose Hill held El Dorado to just one hit over both games.
Andale/Garden Plain beat up on Wichita Collegiate 16-0 and 12-0 holding Collegiate to just one hit combined. Eck homered in both games.
Maize South took down Clearwater 5-3 in the first game with Sterneker getting the Win and Larson getting the Save. In the Second game, Maize South held Clearwater to a single run in the 6th to get the 7-1 victory.
Circle and Wellington split their games; with Circle winning the first 6-2 , thanks for a 4 run 3rd inning, and Wellington scoring 5 in the 4th to win 9-5. Wellington committed 16 errors in the games with 11 coming in the second.
Clearwater soundly defeated Wichita Collegiate needing just 4 innings in the first game to win 18-0; and in the second went the distance but held Collegiate to 2 hits winning 12-0
Greater Wichita Athletic League
Wichita Northwest blanked Wichita North allowing North their only hit of the two games in the first. E. Henning got the first win 7-0; M. Henning got the second 15-0.
Wichita Kapaun Mt. Carmel beat Wichita East in the first game 11-0 giving up 2 hits; Wichita East got 10 hits in the second game, but couldn’t do much damage with them losing 17-4
Wichita South beat Wichita West 15-0 and 19-4
Bishop Carroll defeated Wichita Southeast 15-0 then repeated the score in the second game winning 15-0
Wichita Southeast beat Wichita South in the first game 12-9 thanks to a 6 run 5th inning; Wichita South returned the favor with 2 runs in the 7th to put the game out of reach winning 14-11 splitting with Southeast.
Wichita Northwest held Wichita West hitless in two games but gave a run in the first game, winning both games 16-1 and 16-0. E. Henning and M. Henning got the Wins for Northwest.
Central Kansas League
Hillsboro beat Sterling 10-6, breaking the game open with a 6 run 5th, and getting 4 runs in the 7th to win 10-4
Western Athletic Conference
Garden City downed Liberal with a pair of 13-4 games; Garden City used a 6 run 5th inning to break the game open and never looked back in the first, and got 5 in the 7th to put the game away in the second game.
Central Plains League
Medicine Lodge beat up on Bluestem with a combined 39-1 score over the two games, 23-1 and 16-0. Bailey and Myers, of Medicine Lodge, gave up just 2 hits in the games.
Cheney took down Douglass with a pair of 6-1 games. Cheney’s Payne and Jacobs gave up just 3 hits in each win.
