The honors just keep rolling in for the Bishop Carroll softball team. On top of it’s fourth-straight state championship, head coach Steve Harshberger won the High School Coach of the Year Award from the Wichita Sports Commission and now three players have been named All-Americans.
Pitcher Jessi Haffner, infielder Brittany Finney and outfielder Hunter Hogan have been named to the MaxPreps Medium Schools All-American Second Team.
Haffner went a perfect 4-0 in state championship games in her career. In 2014, she went 13-0 and allowed just three earned runs, good for a 0.37 Earned Run Average. She also struck out 70 batters. With a bat in her hands, her average was .616 with 10 home runs, 49 RBI and a 1.356 slugging percentage. Haffner will play at Oklahoma State next year.
Finney finished the season 12-0 in the circle with a 0.47 ERA and struck out 87. She gave up one walk and 16 hits. Finney batted .547 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI. She will play at Oklahoma next year.
Hogan has played on the past four state title teams with Haffner and led the team in runs scored in 2014 with 51. She boasted a .943 slugging percentage and batted .571. She will play at Wichita State next year.
