Defending Class 2A state champion Hillsboro was pushed to three games, but defeated Pratt in the semifinals and Sterling in the finals of the Central Kansas League Preseason Volleyball Tournament.

Hillsboro downed Sterling 25-16, 19-25, 25-21. Hillsboro defeated Pratt 25-16, 23-25, 25-14 in the semifinals. Sterling defeated Hesston 25-20, 25-21 in the semifinals. Hillsboro defeated Smoky Valley 25-20, 25-9 in the quarterfinals. The Trojans defeated Kingman 25-20, 26-24 and Lyons 25-14, 25-8 in pool play.
