There are just three Wheat State schools left alive in the Kansas State High School Activities Associaiton’s 2012 Fall Season.

Solomon, the 2012 Wheat State football champions, Peabody Burns and Goessel High Schools all had their football teams earn playoff bids in 2012. All other teams are now complete.

The three football teams will look to keep the Wheat State fall season alive this Tuesday night when Solomon plays host to Greensburg while Peabody Burns plays at Rock Hills and Goessel plays at Baileybille B&B.

Solomon

The Gorilla football team completed an 8-1 march through the 2012 regular season Thursday night with a 20-18 win over Pretty Prairie. The win secured the Gorillas a playoff berth and the district championship, giving Solomon a home game in the first round of the playoffs where they will play host to Greensburg on Tuesday night.

Hope

The Lion football team saw its season come to a close just shy of the playoffs Thursday night when they lost to Wheat State rival Goessel 42-28. The Lions ended their season with a 4-4 overall record and 1-2 mark in Wheat State action.

Wakefield

The Bomber football team saw its season come to an end Thursday night with a 46-14  loss to Lakeside. The Bombers finished the 2012 campaign with a 4-5 overall record and 1-2 mark in Wheat State action.

Little River

The Redskin football team saw its season come to an end Thursday night with a 38-34 win over Central Plains, the Redskins finished the season just shy of the playoffs with a 7-2 record and 3-1 record in Wheat State action.

White City

The Huskies football team saw its season come to a close on Thursday night with a 62-8 loss at the hands of Chase High School. White City finished the season with a 2-7 overall record and 0-5 mark in Wheat State action.

Centre

The Cougar football team saw its season come to a close on Thursday night with a 54-8 loss to Madision. The Cougars finished the 2012 campaign with a 5-4 overall record and 1-2 record in Wheat State action.

Goessel

The Goessel High School cross country teams were represented at the 1A state meet in Wamego on Saturday where the Bluebird boys finished in 9th place with a team score of 137 points and the Lady Bluebirds had one representative as Ali Buller finished 31st individually in a time of 17:45.80. The Goessel football team earned a playoff berth Thursday night with a 42-28 win over Wheat State foe Hope High School. The Bluebirds will begin playoff action this Tuesday night when they play at Baileybille B&B High School. The Bluebirds finished 2012 with a 2-1 Wheat State record.

Peabody Burns

The Warrior football team earned a playoff berth in 2012 Thursday night with a 62-48 win over Lebo High School. The Warriors, who were 2-1 in Wheat State action this year, will begin their playoff march Tuesday night when they play at Rock Hills High School.

Elyria Christian

Elyria Christian High School had two state cross country entrants for the 1A meet on Saturday in Wamego. The Eagle boys were represented by Brando Cruz, who finished in 61st place in a time of 20:10.20 while the Lady Eagles were represented by Moriah Redenbaugh, who was 26th in a time of 17:38.0. The Elyria Christian volleyball team had its season come to an end on Friday in the Class 1A Division II state tournament as the Lady Eagles went 0-3 in pool play. The Lady Eagles fell 25-14, 25-18 to Ingllas, 25-11, 25-19 to Baileyville B&B and 25-13, 25-9 to Wheatland/Grinnell.
