BOYS

GWAL

East, the new 6A No. 10 team, got out to a quick start as it took a 23-12 first quarter lead over Southeast. The Blue Aces didn’t look back in a 61-56 win. J.J. Normore of East and E.J. Garnes of Southeast both led all players with 15 points. Carroll picked up a 66-45 victory over Northwest. Carroll’s Logan Bullinger dropped 20 points on the Grizzlies in the win.

Heights ran into a bulldozer called Kapaun in a 58-31 loss. Kapaun’s Braden Hullings had another solid game with 20 points to lead all players. He was the only Kapaun player to score double digits. North missed Conner Frankamp in a 79-67 loss to West.

AVCTL

It was truly a team effort when Circle surprised virtually everyone by scoring one more than 4A No. 3 McPherson in a 45-44 win. McPherson’s Kyler Kinnamon led all players with 15 points and Dennison of Circle was the only Thunderbird in double digits with just 10 points.

In another AVCTL Div. III upset, 4A No. 9 El Dorado went to Augusta and left with an 85-62 embarrassment at the hands of the Orioles.

Derby consistently led by 30 or more points in a 72-33 bludgeon of Ark City. The story wasn’t much better for Goddard. The Lions lost 64-38 to Hutchinson. Andover Central controlled Maize in a 57-40 triumph. Collegiate’s Riley Kemmer led all players with 22 points as the Spartans ran past Rose Hill 56-40. The Mavericks of Maize South left Nickerson with a win, but barely in a 47-45 game.

WAC

Garden City trounced Ulysses 55-41.

SPIAA League Tournament

Kiowa County's Damien Olde scored 23 points in a 46-33 win over South Central. Koy Alexander led the Timberwolves with 15 points. Ashland saw three players put up double figures on the scoreboard in a 49-43 victory over Minneola. Matt McClaren led Minneola with 18 points. South Gray was able to come away with a 63-55 win over Hodgeman County. Trenton Holloway led all players with 22 points. Four players for Hodgeman County scored in teh double figures. Fowler left Ingalls with a bad taste in its mouth after a 68-57 win.

GIRLS

Barton County Round Robin

Sterling girls stay undefeated moving to a perfect 11-0 after defeating Southeast of Saline 63-47.

Berean Academy Tournament

Douglass blew out Hutchinson Central Christian 54-20 in a game that was never close after the tip.

The Burrton lost their charge against Wichita Trinity. The Knights couldn't have dominated any more in a 56-18 victory.

Mulvane Tournament

The Wildcats of Mulvane out-paced the stampeding Colts of Campus High 51-34.

Clearwater pulled away from Winfield for a nine point victory for the Indians, 42-33. Bryna Vogel lead Clearwater in points, she scored 24 points.

North Central Activities Association

The Beloit Trojans charged to a 23 point win over Salina Sacred Heart, 47-24.

Sedgwick Tournament

Hutchinson Trinity began the Sedgwick Tournament against Belle Plaine. The Celtics slayed the Dragons 58-37.

Sedgwick was unable to get over the out-reaching blade of the Teutons as Inman is able to steal a victory away from the hometown Cardinals, 51-46.

Remington beats a struggling Wichita Independent team, 51-43.

Fairfield grabs an 13 point victory over Canton-Galva, 53-40. Fairfield improves to an unblemished 11-0.

Pratt Skyline Tournament - 54 Classic

Norwich puts a shellacking on Macksville defeating the Mustangs 71-45 inflating their record to a pristine 11-0.
