Another night on the hardwood was highlighted by more than one overtime game and North’s Conner Frankamp going off again. Many, many one and two-point games were played around the state on Tuesday.
GWAL
The 6A No. 3-ranked North Redskins waltzed past Carroll 61-43. North’s Conner Frankamp scored 34 points in the win, 24 of which came in the first half. Heights barely slipped past South 44-43. South’s Jordan Moore led all players with 14 points and Shelby Harris added 13 in the loss. Southeast took down Northwest 53-41, led by E.J. Garnes’ 17 points.
AVCTL
Andale and Collegiate were tied at the end of three, but Andale was able to take the late lead and hold on for the 50-48 win. Collegiate’s Riley Kemmer fouled out with three minutes left and led all players with 17 points. Andale’s Hunter Knoblauch scored 16 for Andale in the win.
Salina South barely beat Campus 68-66. Hutchinson walked by Newton in a 59-45 win. Salina Central came away with a 54-46 victory over Maize. Andover was able to beat Valley Center 59-37. Goddard took care of Ark City 66-62.
El Dorado remained unbeaten with a 60-54 double-overtime win over Winfield. McPherson skated by Rose Hill 55-36. Clearwater beat Augusta by the skin of its teeth 48-46. Andover Central was able to beat Derby in overtime 48-45. Andover Central’s Zach Winter finished with a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Wellington handily beat Circle 67-58.
CKL
Haven nearly doubled up on Smoky Valley in a 67-37 beat down. Lyons fell to Halstead 54-49. Hesston downed Kingman 56-38. Hillsboro went to Sterling and took a 56-38 win home with it. Pratt took care of Nickerson 44-35.
CPL
Cheney didn't have much trouble with Belle Plaine in a 55-29 victory. Chaparral and Douglass squared off and it was the Road Runners that ran away with a 75-64 win. Wichita Trinity had its hands full in a 45-42 win over Medicine Lodge. Conway Springs put Bluestem to bed with a 47-42 Cardinal victory. Garden Plain sent Independent on its way home with a 65-55 loss.
WAC
Garden City was able to pull out a 63-60 win over Liberal. Great Bend sent Hays home with a 48-40 loss.
HOA
Berean Academy and Ell-Saline scored a combined 47 points in a 26-21 Warrior win. The Teutons of Inman didn't have much trouble with Hutch Trinity Tuesday 55-40. Moundridge ran past Remington 60-46. Bennington embarrassed Canton-Galva 65-18.
Others
The Longhorns of Thunder Ridge squeaked by Sylvan-Lucas 54-52. Hanover, by the skin of its teeth, beat Washington County 56-55. Minneapolis downed Clay Center Tuesday 47-35. Beloit held on for the win in Chapman over the Irish 42-34. LaCrosse lost Tuesday at the hands of Macksville 47-33.
