It may be Ottawa's first basketball player to receive the Gatorade Kansas Boys Basketball Player of the Year Award, but senior Semi Ojeleye is a name many people around the state are familiar with.

The Duke University signee led the Cyclones to an undefeated season in Class 4A, obviously topping it off with a championship title earlier this month.

There is nothing semi about Semi. This 6-foot-6, 220 pounder averaged 38 points and 8 rebounds per game in the 2012-2013 season. Ojeleye score 952 total points in his senior season, which when added to his career points the last three years, he now holds the Kansas state record with 2,763 points.

Ojeleye is a standout in the classroom as well. He maintained a 4.0 GPA and ranked number one in his senior class.

"He is an unbelievable talent and from what I hear his work ethic is even better," said Kyle Deterding, head coach of rival Eudora in a statement. "On the court, teams made their entire game plan around him, and he still found a way to get it done."
