The North Central Activities Association’s 2012 football season is down to just one team.

But that one team looks to go rather far as the Beloit Trojans are still alive in the Class 3A playoffs as the Trojans are still undefeated at 11-0 on the season and have outscored their opponents a combine 666-108 this season.

Three NCAA teams earned playoff berths and the NCAA was guaranteed to have at least one team move beyond the opening round as Beloit and Ellsworth met up in the opening round of the playoffs.

Beloit eliminated Ellsworth’s playoff run while the other NCAA team, Sacred Heart, also won its playoff opening round, 21-19 over Norton. While Beloit was able to keep the winning alive in the second round of the playoffs, knocking off Holcomb 60-8, Sacred Heart saw its season come to an end with a 55-7 loss to Scott City. Beloit now faces Sedgwick in the sub-state championship game this Friday night.

Sacred Heart currently leads the NCAA All Sports Trophy contest with 28 points while Beloit follows in second with 22, Southeast of Saline has 21, Ellsworth has 19, Minneapolis has 18, Russell has 15 and Republic County has 13.

Sacred Heart

The Knight football team advanced to the second round of the playoffs with a 21-19 win over Norton in the opening round by saw its season come to an end Saturday night with a 55-7 loss to Scott City. Sacred Heart currently leads the NCAA All Sports Trophy contest with 28 points with six points each being earned in football and volleyball, Sacred Heart won an NCAA title in girls cross country, earned five points in boys cross country and four points in girls’ tennis.

Minneapolis

The Lion football team ended its season with a 3-6 record. Minneapolis High School currently has 18 points in the NCAA All Sports contest with four points each in football and volleyball, three points in boys cross country and seven points in girls’ golf.

Southeast of Saline

The Trojan football team ended its 2012 season with a 4-5 record. Southeast of Saline High School has 21 points in the NCAA All Sports Trophy contest after earning three points in football, five points in volleyball, six points in girls cross country and earning seven and an NCAA championship in boys cross country.

Russell

The Bronco football team finished its 2012 season with a 1-8 record. Russell High School has 15 points in the NCAA All Sports Trophy contest after earning two points in football, one point in volleyball, six points in girls’ tennis and six points in girls’ golf.

Beloit

The Trojan football team is the lone team in the NCAA fall season still alive. The Trojans are undefeated at 11-0 on the season after they opened their playoff run by dismantling NCAA foe Ellsworth 66-0 in the opening round and topping Holcomb 60-8 in the second round on Saturday. The Trojans are now scheduled to play at Sedgwick in the sub-state championship game this Friday night. Beloit currently is in second place in the NCAA All Sports Trophy contest with 22 points after earning seven points in football, three points in volleyball, three in girls cross country and four in boys cross country and five points in girls tennis.

Ellsworth

The Bearcat football team finished its 2012 season with a 5-5 record after being shutout by NCAA foe Beloit 66-0 in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs. Ellsworth High School currently has 19 points in the NCAA All Sports Trophy contest after earning five points in football, seven points in volleyball and seven points in girls’ tennis.

Republic County

The Republic County Buffaloes football season ended its season with a 0-9 record. Republic County currently has 13 points in the NCAA All Sports Trophy contest after earning one point in football, two points in volleyball, four points in girls cross country, and six points in boys cross country.
