This past week in the North Central Kansas League the top performances were put forth by the Concordia golf team, which won the Beloit Invitational, the Abilene golf and tennis teams which both won their own invitational tournaments on Tuesday and the Concordia baseball team which swept NCKL Wamego on Tuesday.
Concordia
Concordia’s baseball team swept NCKL rival Wamego on Tuesday, winning the opener 6-2 and completing the sweep with a 6-5 win. … The Panther baseball team swept Salina Sacred Heart on Thursday in a pair of 1-run games. The Panthers won the opener 4-3 and completing the sweep with an 8-7 victory in game two. … The Panther tennis team finished in second place on Tuesday at the Abilene Invitational with 21 points. … The Concordia golf team won the Beloit Invitational on Thursday with a 6-man score of 523. … The Panther golfers played in the Abilene Invitational on Tuesday where they finished with a 4-man score of 343.
Abilene
The Abilene baseball team split a doubleheader with Marysville on Tuesday, falling 4-3 in the opener, but coming back to win the nightcap 6-1. … The Cowgirl softball team split with Clay Center on Tuesday, falling 6-1 in the opener but bouncing back to take the nightcap 6-4. … The Abilene golf team won its own invitational tournament on Tuesday with a 4-man score of 332. … The Abilene tennis team won its own invitational tournament on Tuesday with 30 points. … The Abilene tennis team finished in third place Thursday at the Salina South Invitational with 43 points.
Clay Center
The Lady Tiger softball team split with Abilene on Tuesday, winning the opener 6-3 but falling to the Cowgirls 6-4 in the nightcap. … The Clay Center golf team finished in seventh place on Thursday in the Beloit Invitational with a 6-man score of 642. … The Clay Center golf team played in the Abilene Invitational on Tuesday where they finished with a 4-man score of 496.
Marysville
The Bulldog baseball team split a pair of games with Abilene on Tuesday, winning the opener 4-3 but falling in the nightcap 6-1. … The Marysville track team ran at Belleville on Tuesday where the Bulldog boys finished in fourth place with 76 points and the Lady Bulldog finished eighth with 43 points. … The Bulldog tennis team played at Topeka West on Tuesday where the Bulldogs finished in sixth place with 44 points. … The Bulldog golf team played at Abilene on Tuesday where they finished with a 4-man score of 460.
Wamego
The Red Raider baseball team suffered a sweep against NCKL rival Concordia on Tuesday, falling 6-2 in the opener and 6-5 in the nightcap. … The Raider golf team played in the Abilene Invitational on Tuesday where the Raiders finished with a 4-man score of 361.
