WICHITA, Kan.—
Some big movements occurred this past week in boys’ soccer rankings. Starting with the all-class rankings, the only three teams to retain last week’s rankings are Blue Valley Northwest at No. 1, St. Thomas Aquinas at No. 2 and Washburn Rural at No. 7. Every other team in the top 10 moved at least one spot. The biggest fall of the week goes to Olathe South, a team that was ranked No. 3 in the state overall last week and currently sits at No. 10. The Falcons were the second-ranked team two weeks ago. Wichita Northwest debuts in the overall ranks at No. 9.
In 6A, Wichita North moved from No. 3 to No. 2 with the Titan Classic victory. Washburn Rural knocked Dodge City out of the top five as it took the No. 5 spot. SM East also slides in at No. 4.
Liberal fell from the ranks in 5A as Great Bend moved into the No. 4 spot. This bumped Kapaun Mt. Carmel down to the fifth-ranked team in 5A. In 4-1A, the top five teams remained the same, just in a different order. St. James is now the top-ranked team in the class and Topeka Hayden is now the No. 2 team after a No. 3 ranking last week.
