The Kansas Soccer Coaches Association has released its first boys soccer rankings of the year. Wichita North sits at No. 3 overall and in 6A. Blue Valley Northwest is at the top overall and in 6A. Wichita Northwest won the 2011 state title over Olathe South, but it lost a ton of talent. Olathe South is in the No. 2 spot in overall and 6A.

In 5A, St. Thomas Aquinas is at the top. Kapaun Mt. Carmel took home third place in 2011, and is ranked at No. 4 in the first poll of the year. Defending 5A state champion Liberal is at No. 5 and Salina Central sits as the second-ranked team in 5A.

Defending state champion Kansas City Christian ranks as the best in 4-1A, just ahead of the team it defeated in the championship match St. James Academy. Buhler and McPherson sit at No. 4 and 5, respectively.
