The only class that saw no change was the 4A boys. Every team from last week stayed in the same spots last week. Every other class has some major shake ups.
The Wichita North boys broke into the top three in 6A for the first time this season and knocked Blue Valley North to No. 4. Derby moved up one spot to No. 6 and Olathe East fell from No. 2 to No. 7 this week. Wichita East lost to Wichita North Friday, and fell out of the top 10 for the first time this season.
The Wichita Heights girls kept its stranglehold on the top spot in 6A, as Maize moved up to No. 2 from No. 3. Wichita East fell out of the top 10 after holding a No. 7 ranking in last week’s poll. The Kapaun boys and girls continue to show it’s the best basketball school in the state as both teams are still the top-ranked teams in 5A Kansas. Bishop Carroll and Goddard Eisenhower boys both fell one spot to Nos. 7 and 8, respectively.
The Newton girls moved into the No. 3 spot and Valley Center now holds the No. 10 spot in 5A. The Mulvane girls make their debut in 4A at No. 8. The Hillsboro girls are still the team to beat in 3A, as Garden Plain fell to No. 6 from No. 3 this week. Halstead moved into the No. 9 spot as it debuted in the rankings.
