WICHITA, Kan.—
The Wichita Heights girls just keep on winning. And for that, they are still the top team in 6A. Maize also held steady at No. 2 this week. The Wichita South girls moved up one spot to No. 5 in 6A. On the boys’ side, Wichita North held on to the No. 3 slot yet again and Derby held steady at No. 6. Dodge City fell one spot to No. 10.The top five-ranked teams in 5A stayed the same, as Shawnee Mission South kept the top spot. Kapaun still sits at No. 4 as Andover broke the top 10 as it is now ranked No. 9. The Kapaun girls kept its stranglehold on the No. 1 spot in 5A. The Newton girls are still the No. 4 team in the class.
In 4A, Independence fell out of the top 10 after a No. 3 ranking last week and Wamego is the third-ranked team in 4A after a non-ranking last week, further proving the 4A boys is the most inconsistent class in the state. El Dorado broke the top 10 seal as it is now the No. 10 team. This sets up a top 10 match up in McPherson as the No. 6 Bullpups take on the now-No. 6 Wildcats.
