Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League I-II

Hutchinson improved to 6-0 this season with shutouts of McPherson and Goddard. The Salthawks beat the Bullpups 3-0 and the Lions 2-0. Goddard did pick up a 1-0 victory over Salina Central behind a Kenzie Klaasen goal. Valley Center earned its first two wins of the season, blanking Salina South and Campus by identical 3-0 scores. Andover Central kept the shutouts going in a 2-0 decision against Newton. The Jaguars couldn’t continue their momentum as they struggled with Maize and lost 7-1. Andover got two second-half goals to edge Campus 2-1 and then played Newton to a scoreless tie. Goddard Eisenhower and Salina South also tied in their matchup with each team tallying one goal. Jessica Pancoast had 20 saves for Salina South. Two days earlier, Eisenhower beat Derby 2-1 thanks to two goals in the first half. Derby didn’t go without a win though as it defeated McPherson 3-0.

Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League III-IV

Kalyn Pfaff tallied five goals as Rose Hill dominated Mulvane 9-1. The Rockets led 7-0 at halftime. Ellyn Willse scored the only goal of the game in Buhler’s victory over Winfield. The Crusaders also beat Mulvane 5-0 behind Willse’s three goals and two assists. Winfield bounced back with a 7-2 victory at Circle, which had a rough week as it fell 6-0 to Wichita Independent too. Augusta goalkeeper Taylor Childers made 14 saves against Maize South, but it wasn’t near enough as the Mavericks won 5-0. Augusta also lost 7-0 to Wichita Trinity, which got two goals apiece from Caroline Zielke and Madison Clinton.

Greater Wichita Athletic League

A first-half goal lifted undefeated Bishop Carroll to a 1-0 victory at Wichita Heights. Kapaun Mt. Carmel and Wichita Northwest earned 10-0 wins against league foes. The Crusaders topped Wichita West and the Grizzlies scored eight goals in the second half against Wichita South. Northwest also took down Emporia 6-1 with the help of four goals after halftime. South came back and won its next game 4-1 over Wichita Independent. Wichita East got three goals in the second half to beat Wichita North 4-2. The Aces more than doubled that output in a 9-0 win against Word of Life. Junction City came to Wichita and defeated another GWAL opponent. After beating West last week, the Bluejays handed Southeast a 3-2 setback. The Buffaloes did manage a 2-1 victory at home over West.

Western Athletic Conference

Hoy Lim had two goals -- one on a penalty kick – and an assist to lead Dodge City by Hays 3-0. The Red Demons coasted by Thomas More Prep 10-0 as well. Hays regrouped to earn a 2-1 overtime win against Liberal, which played Great Bend to a scoreless tie earlier in the week.
