Some classes moved around and somestayed the exact same in this week’s girls’ tennis rankings.
Despite an eighth-straight GWAL championship, Kapaun Mt. Carmel remains the second-ranked team in 5A behind top-ranked Bishop Carroll. St. James Academy made the move from 4A to 5A and immediately became the fourth-ranked team in the class.
Maize moved up one spot from No. 5 to No. 4 this week in 6A, continuing its rise in the class. Shawnee Mission East, Blue Valley North and Topeka Washburn Rural all remained the top three teams in 6A, respectively.
In 4A, Independence and Hesston traded places, as Independence moved to No. 2 from No. 4, and the Lady Swathers were bumped to No. 4 after a previous ranking of No. 2. Wichita Collegiate remains the top team in 4A.
