When your home life is a total change from your school life, Mackenzie McBeth can relate.

"Going to school as a normal student, and going home as a rodeo champion is like having two different lives," said McBeth.

It all began when McBeth started competing at age three. Ever since, she's been doing polls, barrels, breakaway and goat tying.

McBeth rides for the Kansas High School Rodeo Association, Little Britches Rodeo Association and at open rodeos.

"Being able to ride all the horses everyday while still being involved in school is probably the hardest part," the Douglass junior said.

Taking care of the horses can take around four hours a day, so it's a good thing McBeth can count on her coaches, mom and dad, to help her when she's in a bind.

Because McBeth comes from a big rodeo family, she receives all the support she could want. It came as no surprise when she won the title as the World Champion Goat Tyer at the 2012 Nationals for the Little Britches Rodeo Association.

When rodeos and school don't keep McBeth busy, she is often with her cross country team, or at games supporting her fellow Bulldogs. Some of her favorite hobbies are reading and shopping at Atwoods.
