Wichita Southeast head coach Carl Taylor has resigned his post after 20 years at the school.
Taylor led the Buffaloes to three Class 6A titles and paced the City League in wins. He posted a record of 345-146 while at Southeast, including 315 league wins.
Taylor also spent time as coach at Bonner Springs, where he led the Braves to their lone state boys basketball title in 1984, and Junction City.
Southeast finished 9-12 overall and 6-10 in the City League this season and was defeated by Derby in the opening round of sub-state. Taylor, 63, has also battled prostate cancer in recent years.
Taylor’s announcement comes just weeks after longtime rival Ron Allen stepped down from his position at East.
