WICHITA, Kan.—
Kapaun Mt. Carmel varsity baseball played two games against Wichita Southeast High School on Monday, Apr. 16. Both games turned in KMC's favor. The score of the first game was 15-0, and the second game was 12-2."We expected to come out with intensity and jump on the fastballs early in the count," senior Thomas Meitzner from KMC said.
"We threw many strikes," Luman said. "But we walked too many and hit too many guys."
Their hard work should improve their team flaws, Meitzner said.
"We have been working very hard as a team and focusing on getting ahead in the count and hitting the fastballs," Meitzner said. "We will all come around once we get in rhythm and get our timing down."
Despite their weaknesses, the whole team came together and attributed to the two wins. The players did their "jobs", Meitzner said.
"The pitchers pitched well and our hitters hit," Meitzner said. "We played how we should and took care of business. We just want to keep it rolling into the big stretch of games that we have coming up."
KMC baseball plays on Saturday, Apr. 2t at 3 p.m. against their rival, Bishop Carroll, at Newman University.
