The Andale Indians hosted the McPherson Bullpups in the second round of playoffs on Saturday. The Indians dominated from the start. Junior running back Hunter Knoblauch returned the opening kick off for a touchdown and continued to carry the Indians to a 36-7 win against the Bullpups.
Indians quarterback Jared Smarsh faked the handoff and kept it himself for the seven-yard score to put Andale up 14-0 in the second quarter. The Indians would add another six points on a Smarsh one-yard keeper. They follow it with a fake extra point and Smarsh connected easily with junior Jason Hermreck for a two-point conversion.
The Bullpups quarterback Kyler Kinnamon posted a 39-yard keeper to put McPherson on the board but it was the Bullpups only score of the night.
After the half, Knoblauch and Kinnamon add two long runs for touchdowns in the third quarter. They lead the Indians to the second round victory 36-7. Andale will travel to Holton on Friday for the sectional championship.
