West High played the North High Redskins for the second time this season on Tuesday. This time the game was at West. West was hoping for a better final result this game but most people say this game was just like the last.

West lost to North by four points. The Pioneers put up a good fight taking the lead 1:45 left in the first quarter, West held onto the lead until 1:58 remaining in the fourth quarter. When the first half was over the Pioneers had the lead by six points.

West was strong during the whole game until the final five minutes. Starting the fourth quarter the score was West 43-35. Senior Jeremy Wilson was fouled out of the game with five minutes left, one of West top scorers of the night. Shortly following him was Leroy Moore. West gave North the chance to catch up with free throws. With 1:47 left in the game, North had the lead by one point. 40 seconds later the game was tied again with a score of 52.

Leading scorers for West were Seniors Daylin Thomas, Jeremy Wilson and Dexter McCoy with 13 points each.

“(It) was another close game that just slipped out of our hands. (We) came in without all of our people and some of us had to step up, but still couldn’t get the job done,” said Senior Dexter McCoy.
