WICHITA, Kan.—
With a 12-7 record on its hands, North is making an appearance in the City League as well as the state as a dark horse to the competition. A key to this has been the outstanding performances led by junior Conner Frankamp. This season he averages 35-plus points per game with scoring the majority of the games around 40 points. Last year he achieved the City League record of most points scored in a game with 52 points and is now fifth in City League history for total career points.“He has been unstoppable this year. He knows how to play the game and plays smart along with his shooting ability,” coach Gary Squires said.
“The sophomores have been getting used to the speed of the game. Their confidence is growing, which will build up with the years they have ahead of them.” Squires said.
Teamwork for the Redskins has been a strong asset this season. The ability to share the ball and shoot open shots when the opportunity arises has been building and forming a stronger team. Teamwork has brought them to a third place seat in the City League as well as a 3rd place seeding in the sub-state rankings; exactly where they wanted to be.
The Skins’ next game will be at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 at Heights.
