The Heights boys bowling team took on Bishop Carroll and Wichita West in a bowling triangular on Monday. The Heights boys finished third with 2,167 pins.

The first game was rough for the Falcons with low of 662 combined pins for the first game, but the team stayed positive.

"They (teammates) were very encouraging. They would congratulate me on good shots and help me fix my bad ones,” Page Kendall said. “Like when I shot a 149 my first game, they tried helping me adjust my shots to hit the pocket better the next game."

Kendall focused on hitting his second shot in this triangular.

"I did best on picking up spares, which can make or break a game, and kept my first two games from being completely terrible," Kendall said.

Even with the loss, it was a learning experience for the Falcons.

"I learned that you have to stay focused on your current game, not what happened before it,” Kendall said. “I will try to improve by staying positive and not dwelling on the negative."

Heights has another tough challenge coming up on Monday.

“Next we play Southeast and Kapaun at Thunderbird on Monday, Feb. 6,” Kendall said. “I'm a little nervous because Southeast dominated the Bishop Carroll Invitational Tournament a few weeks ago."
