Of the seven teams that compete in the Central Plains League, six of them earned positions on the CPL All-League selection list. Medicine Lodge won the league and had a total of six names on this years list, four of which were 1st teamers.
Chaparral was not far behind as they were awarded five positions, two of them being on the 1st team. This was no surprise because these two team competed very well against each other all year. Medicine Lodge (19-3) lost two games against Chaparral (13-7), in league play and then again to end their season in the 3A Regional Championship game on May 15th.
Chaparral took fourth in state after losing in the third place game against Silver Lake.
Belle Plaine and Douglass each took five positions on the selection list as well, while Cheney took four spots of their own, all of which were on the 1st team.
