Both Ness City and Hodgeman County came into Thursdays 8-Man Division I showdown with identical 3-1 records in district seven.  The winner of this game would advance to the postseason, the loser would be done for the season.

    Natoma defeated Pike Valley at the Northern Plains League meet last season. Two weeks later, the Tigers had a disappointing start in the Class 1A boys’ state cross country race at Wamego Country Club. Three Natoma runners were knocked down in a collision at the start of the race, an accident that  occurred just past the restart cone at the top of Wamego’s race-opening hill.
