The host school from Hays gave St. Thomas Aquinas everything they had, but still came up 13 strokes short of knocking off the champs. The Saints won their fifth straight title by shooting a 352 in cold and windy conditions at the Smoky Hills County Club.

"Everybody struggled," said Coach Ryan Best. "But we fought through and did our best. Some days you just have to fight through and still get it done. I've just been blessed with so many good players over the last five, six, seven years. I couldn't be prouder of the whole tradition of the team."

The Indians did put four golfs in the top 20, led by Maddie Curry's sixth place finish. Aquinas had two of the top three golfers, including state champion Baile Winslow who shot a 78 to take the crown.

"I'm very proud of my girls," said Hays head coach Mark Watts. " I couldn't ask for more. They were very consistent, they've been consistent all year. And those are seniors and I'm going to miss them."

Audrey Meisch of Andover finished second with an 82, followed by Jordan Chael of Aquinas who shot and 84, Alissa Kim of Salina Cenral with an 85 and Alyssa Lewis of Arkansas City's 87.

In the team race, Hays shot a 365 to finish second with Andover third with a 378.
