WICHITA, Kan.—
The Kansas Football Coaches Association has released its All-State teams for each Class 6A through 2-1A. Only seniors were eligible for the teams from each class. With these teams the Kansas Coaches named their top 11.Class 6A champion Wichita Heights got two players on the Top 11 with defensive back Evan Wessel and running back Dreamius Smith. Wessel had eight interceptions on the season to lead the Falcons defensive effort. Smith had 1837 yards rushing and scored 37 touchdowns. Ben Heeney set a new Hutchinson rushing record with 2,083 yards rushing for 39 touchdowns this season and earned an All-State Top 11 nod. Gardner-Edgerton star Bubba Starling was a pick for the All-State Top 11 on the merits of his 2,022 yards rushing for 26 touchdowns and 794 yards passing. Christian Ulasaker had 1,146 yards receiving for 11 touchdowns to make the Top 11 team.
