Week 8 Matchups |
Week 8 of the football season is here, and with it comes a do-or-die situation for many Kansas teams. In some cases, playoff spots can even be earned this weekend.
Sedgwick & Garden Plain have both made it through the season unscathed to this point. Both teams are looking to make a run in the playoffs, but first, they have to get past each other. Garden Plain will have the home-field advantage, and is battle-tested after beating previously #1-ranked Conway Springs earlier this season. However, Sedgwick has quarterback Trent Stucky leading the charges, and few things in high school football are more important than experience, which Stucky has as a three-year starter.
Hays and Salina South both won last weekend versus rival schools, but both need last minute heroics to get the job done. Hays won in overtime against Great Bend, and Salina South had to kick a field goal to seal a victory over Salina Central. The winner of this battle will be in the drivers seat for a state playoff berth.
