The 2A volleyball State Championship was held at the White Auditorium where the Kansas State High School Activities Association crowned a champion, Saturday afternoon.
“I’m so proud of these girls and so excited for them” said, an excited, Laramie Jueneman, head coach of the Washington County Tigers, just after her team won the 2A Volleyball State Championship.
“They worked so hard this season, the last several years and they really stepped it up and got it done, I thought they played really well.” Coach Jueneman continued complimenting her team after defeating a talented Ell-Saline squad 25-12, 25-18.
After facing each other, the day before, in pool play the Tigers had a good idea of how to play the Tigers and they executed their strategy to perfection out killing the Cardinals and digging their way to victory.
The south court hosted the 3rd place match-up between Hill City and Jeferson County North. It took three sets to decide the Consolation prize. The Ringnecks from Hill City defeated the Chargers of Jefferson County 25-13, 15-25, 25-19, to take home the victory.
