The Western Athletic Conference is year-in and year-out on of the toughest leagues in the state, comprised of the five biggest western Kansas schools. Recently, Dodge City has had a string of success, and the WAC coaches expect that success to continue.
One surprise of the poll comes in the form of a tie between Great Bend and Hays for third place. Last season, Dodge City, Garden City & Hays all qualified for post-season play.
