Bishop Miege, St. James Academy and Wichita Collegiate held on to top spots in their respective classes, while Blue Valley West, Uniontown and South Central claimed top spots vacated by preseason favorites.

Washburn Rural was the top-ranked team last week, but it tumbled out of the rankings this week after going 1-1. Blue Valley West, Olathe Northwest, Blue Valley and Blue Valley North each moved up one spot as a result. Wichita Northwest rode its 2-0 week into the fifth spot in the rankings.

Collegiate went 7-1 in the first week, but held on to its top spot despite the loss. Phillpsburg, Southwestern Heights, Central Heights and Effingham all rode undefeated weeks to remain ranked. Hillsboro is sitting on the outside looking in after a 9-0 week.

Uniontown was the big mover this week with and 8-0 record to claim the top spot as previously top-ranked Valley Heights fell out of the rankings. Uniontown was fourth in the preseason poll. Oskaloosa moved up to second from third. Oberlin fell to third from second. Olpe and Goessel entered the rankings at four and five respectively.

South Central went from not ranked to the No. 1 team in Class 1A after it posted an 8-0 record to start the season. St. John-Hudson stayed strong at two, while Centralia suffered a loss to fall from first to third. Skyline held at fourth while Hutchinson Central Christian went from third to fifth. St. John's of Beloit did not lose, but it still fell from the rankings.
