It's the first full slate of high school basketball games since the break and the action never lets up here on CatchItKansas.com. With everyone coming back, hopefully rested, from a long break the Catch-All has your team's progress report from Tuesday's games.
GWAL
A 56 game win streak is nothing to sneeze at, unless you're the Titans of Wichita South. Wichita South sneezed all over Wichita Heights' streak, which spanned two and a quarter seasons. It took a titanic team effort led by Kirea Rogers with 11 points, 10 rebounds and Madison Northcutt with 10 points and 12 rebounds. The Titans prevailed in this one 38-32 in a defensive struggle.
Wichita Bishop Carroll took care of Wichita North dispatching them by 36 points. Kayla Demel had 16 points and led the Golden Eagles to a 56-20 victory.
Wichita Kapaun Mt. Carmel more than doubles up on Wichita West with a 58-26 beat-down.
Wichita Northwest puts up 69 compared to Southeast's 43 as the Grizzlies cruise to a 26 point victory.
AVCTL
Newton improves to 7-1 with a 25 point victory over the Hutchinson. The Railers plowed through the Salthawks 56-31
Salina South is playing tough defense this season only allowing 38.3 points per game. That same defense was on display against Campus Tuesday night allowing just 29 points and scoring 45 of their own.
In their league match-up Maize defeated Salina Central 43-32. The Eagles stay undefeated improving to 7-0.
While Andover is undefeated in league play (6-0) they do have one loss on the year (7-1). Their second loss wouldn't be handed out Tuesday as they defeat Valley Center 60-42.
Goddard played a tight game against the Bulldogs of Arkansas City. The Lions pulled away slightly in the end winning by just 7, 50-43.
In a thriller Goddard Eisenhower won by just two points over Maize South. The Mavericks came up just short and lost 54-52.
Winfield was relentless defensively against El Dorado in a dominating 39-16 victory.
McPherson had an offensive explosion against Rose Hill. The Bullpups put up 66 to the Rockets' 23.
Andale keeps their record unblemished with eight consecutive victories. Tuesday's win came against a tough Collegiate squad that couldn't keep up. The Indians simply out-paced the Spartans in a 50-41 win.
Clearwater struggled offensively against Augusta putting up just 39 points. The Indians picked up the slack on defense however holding the Orioles to only 20 points themselves.
Wellington and Circle duked it out to begin their second part of the season. Only a 9 point gap separated them at the end of the fourth quarter and the score 49-40 was displayed on the scoreboard.
Central Kansas League
Haven improves to 7-2 with a victory over Smoky Valley. The city of Lindsborg fell to Haven 58-32.
Central Plains League
Wichita Trinity proved to be too much for Medicine Lodge to handle. Trinity wins 59-24.
Chaparral grabbed their second win of the season with a 56-45 win over Douglass.
Greater West Activities Conference
Holcomb dominated in their performance against Scott City, winning in blow-out fashion 62-32.
Heart of America
Berean Academy puts a nine point victory on their record defeating Ell-Saline 38-29.
Hutchinson Trinity edges Inman High School by six in a 44-38 victory.
Moundridge and Remington both struggled offensively Tuesday night but Moundridge came out on top with a 35-22 win.
Sedgwick doubles up on Marion. The Cardinals flew away with this one 41-20.
North Central Activities Association
Republic County's Head Coach Alan Sheets picks up his 400th victory tonight against Sacred Heart. Sheet's defense held the Knights to just 13 points as his team went on to score 51 of their own.
Non-League
Independence shows Word of Life the door with a 67-33 victory.
Conway Springs aggressively outplayed a docile Bluestem team. The Cardinals dominated in a 47-22 win.
Hesston destroyed a Kingman squad that was just over-matched putting up 47 points to Kingman's 18.
Sterling got away with a victory over Hillsboro in a 5 point nail-biter, winning 48-43.
Garden Plain was left wondering if Independent wanted to show up as the Owls flew over the Panthers, 53-17.
Cheney defeats Belle Plaine 62-32 in a game that was never close.
Garden City had no problem handeling Liberal 59-26.
