Drew O'Brien played just one season of high school football. But that was enough to impress the coaches at Fort Hays State University. The Thomas More Prep senior signe on this week to continue his career with the Tigers.

O'Brien was an all-state selection in both football and soccer this past fall at TMP.

He was the second-leading scorer for the Monarch football team with 34 points and helped TMP record its first winning record since 2003.

O'Brien also averaged 38 yards per punt and earned Class 3A all-state honors in football, as a punter and kicker.

The senior was also four-year starter on the Monarchs' soccer team who earned all-state honors at goalkeeper his senior season.

O'Brien had several opportunities to play soccer in college but says he was impressed with the Tiger football coaching staff and facilities.
