The 2011 All North Central Kansas League football and volleyball team’s have been announced.
In football the Abilene Cowboys and Concordia Panthers, who finished first and second in the NCKL standings, had seven players each honored on the first-team lists while Clay Center had two, Marysville 3 while Wamego hadfive, and Chapman had one player selected as All-NCKL.
In volleyball Abilene, Marysville and Wamego each had three players earn All NCKL honors while Clay Center had two and Concordia had one player.
Concordia
In football Concordia was represented by Jordan Brown, Aren Coppoc, Devin Fleming and Blake Woellhof on All NCKL offense while Gabe Bergmann, Tyler Snavely and Blake Woellhof were named to the All-NCKL defensive unit. … In volleyball the Lady Panthers were represented by Lindsey Widen on the All NCKL first team.
Abilene
The Cowboy football team was represented by Josh Anguiano, Collin Sexton, Ben Weissenbach and Andy Wilson on the All NCKL first team offense while Dathan Parks, Adrian Polk and Collin Sexton were named to the All NCKL first team defensive unit. … The Abilene volleyball team was represented by Kelsey Lacy, Karina Anderson and Gracie Sexton the All NCKL first team.
Clay Center
The Tigers were reprsented by Caleb Carson on All NCKL first team offense and Kaden Anderson and Caleb Carson on the All NCKL first team defensive unit. … the Lady Tigers were represented on the All NCKL volleyball team by Lacey Blake and Macey Dieckmann.
Marysville
The Lady Bulldog volleyball team was represented by Blair Russell, Haylee Eck and Chelsie Detimore on the All NCKL first team in volleyball. … Brett Crome represented Marysville on the All NCKL first team offensive unit while Brady Moore and Garrison Wright represented the Bulldogs on the All NCKL first team defensive unit.
Wamego
The Red Raider football team was represented on the first team All NCKl team by Brad Standlee and Dakota Turner and on the All NCKL defensive first team by Nathan Pageler. … The Lady Raider volleyball team, which tied Abilene for the NCKL team title in2011, was reprsented on the All NCKL first team by Lakyn Rowden, Britany Finney and True Mussetter.
Chapman
The Chapman volleyball team, which did not win a single match all year, was not represented on the All NCKL first team or honorable mention but the Chapman football team, which also went winless in 2011, was reprsented by Anthony Howard as a first-team All NCKL defensive lineman.
