Sub-State competition for volleyball is Saturday and the Kansas Volleyball Coaches Association has released its final volleyball rankings for the year.
Six of the top seven No. 1 teams remain the same including national ranked St. James in Class 4A and Bishop Miege in Class 5A. St. James is ranked No. 4 in the nation according to ESPN Rise and Miege is No. 14 in the same rankings.
Kapaun entered the Class 5A rankings on the same night it secured its first City League title in four years. The Crusaders are No. 5 heading into the championship part of the season.
Pratt and its one-loss record enter the Class 4A rankings at No. 5. Mission Valley is the new No. 1 team in Class 2A as it takes over for Smith Center. Smith Center slips just one spot to No. 2.
Norwich was the big mover in the little classes as it jumps from unranked to No. 2 in Class 1A Division II.
