As a two time Gatorade Kansas Girls Basketball Player of the Year, senior Katelyn Loecker topped the AVCTL Division III in the 2012-2013 season by averaging 17.75 points, 9.65 rebounds, and 3.15 assists per game. McPherson won their division with a 10-0 league record and finished with an overall record of 22-4.

Loecker was the leading scorer with 25 points in the Lady Bullpups season finale against Wamego in the 4A State Championship game. Although McPherson had to settle for second place, coaches hold a high opinion of the 6-foot senior.

“Katelyn is a player that has exceptional skill and character,” said Jason VenJohn, head coach of rival Winfield High, in a statement. “As a coach that has faced her twice, she is a kid that’s unbelievable and a tough assignment no matter what way you try to guard her. And she’s a great defender as well, all while keeping a cool demeanor on the floor.”

Our 2011 Rising Star signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketabll at Oklahoma State and will attend the university this fall. Congratulations on an outstanding career Katelyn!
